IClicker Cloud instructor training sessions coming in November

Starting in November, training sessions will be held in person and virtually for iClicker Cloud, Purdue’s new centrally funded and supported classroom response tool for West Lafayette and Purdue Northwest, which will become available in January 2024.

Instructors can choose to attend an in-person or virtual training session at any campus, whatever best fits their schedule. Virtual sessions will be recorded and posted to the iClicker Cloud webpage for those who have schedule conflicts during the training sessions.

The sessions include:

To log into a session and for informational updates, visit the iClicker Cloud webpage.

Training session highlights include learning the basics of setting up and using iClicker Cloud in the classroom; discovering tips and best practices for maximizing student engagement and learning outcomes; and exploring advanced features, such as quizzes, attendance tracking and analytics. Trainers also will address specific questions and concerns from attendees.

Top features of iClicker Cloud include geolocation for attendance, clickable image answering, short answer submissions, and the creation of study guides from slides. Students will be able to respond using a personal device such as a phone, tablet or computer. With Purdue centrally funding and supporting iClicker Cloud, students are no longer required to purchase physical clickers and there is no fee for instructors or students to use the tool.

Instructors who want to continue to allow the use of the physical clickers  can set their instructor portal to a hybrid option to allow for the use of both mobile and physical clicker answering options. The current solution, iClicker Classic, is available and supported for the fall 2023 semester only. An alternative, Hotseat, will be available and supported for the fall 2023 and spring 2024 semesters.
